[NCUC-EC] ICANN 58 Copenhagen - response needed 8 DECEMBER 2016

I thought the new EC didn’t come into being until Jan 1, new year. I think it’s a mistake to consider the new EC to be “the EC” right after the votes are counted. There needs to be a transition period.

Subject: [NCUC-EC] ICANN 58 Copenhagen - response needed 8 DECEMBER 2016

Hi,

as usual the travel allocation of ICANN meeting started just after the previous one.
the current EC cannot make allocation on behalf the new one being elected and we should leave the decision to them (it may be their first decision).
the deadline is quite close and I am asking Glen if there is possibility of extra days to sort this out by the new EC.

Best,

Rafik

Dear Rafik,

In order to service your travel needs for ICANN 58 in Copenhagen in a timely fashion, please submit your ICANN58 Meeting database to me by 8 DECEMBER 2016 at the very latest.
The approved date of arrival/departure is: 10-17 March 2017.
A timely response would be appreciated in view of visa issues and the OFAC review.
Please note that if you are a GNSO supported traveler with a designated hotel accommodation funding, a hotel room is automatically secured for you, please DO NOT book your own hotel as it is un-reimbursable.

Please note that when requesting travel support, in the interest of fairness and in light of budget restrictions we would like you to take the following into consideration:

1. Respond timely to ICANN Travel regarding your upcoming travel to Copenhagen.
2. If possible please book direct travel requests. Detours and multi-stop trips are unfortunately not guaranteed.
3. Strictly limit your travel from your home to the ICANN meeting venue.
4. Arrive based on your approved dates of arrival to ensure your participation on meetings.
5. If you require a visa to enter the country, please make sure to acquire your visa immediately.

We would like to bring to your attention that the main conference venue and the hotels are apart.
There will be regular shuttles between the hotels and the convention center and in the event that other transport may be required taxis will be available.

Many thanks for your cooperation!

Kind regards,

Glen
