[NCUC-EC] [Ext] ICANN77 CROP

Hello EC,
I did reach out to ask about submitting a CROP trip proposal past the deadline. This is not possible.
In addition, I asked about members being temporarily located within the region and here is the response: as long as the trip starts within the same region and ends in the same region as the event, this is fine from a CROP perspective pending the approval from the GSE VP.
In short, I do not see a problem for somebody utilizing CROP funds even though this person is temporarily located in the trip region.
Thank you!
Kind Regards,
Andrea

Hi Andrea
Thanks for clarifying, just wanted to check when it says “located in the region” does it also include people located in the regional temporarily as I am based in the North America region (owing to my day job) until August.

Hello,
No, it is not. For ICANN77, to use CROP the member has to be from the NA region.
Mili, if you want to use CROP, it would have to be for an event that takes place in your region.
Here are a few items from the guidelines, which I think is important for the EC to read:
1. All trips must be completed before the end of FY23. Specifically, supported travelers must have returned to their originating destination on or before 30 June 2023.
2. Trips must originate and conclude within the same region and must be taken by someone located in the region where the meeting is taking place. No out-of-region travel will be permitted.

Thanks for confirming Andrea, I guess we got confused with the Crop date… is it possible to submit our name today or tomorrow latest, just a couple days late…

Hi Andrea. Thanks. I See. Well, that may settle it, but I’ll confer with the other EC members.

Hi Ken,
A couple of things, the deadline to submit a trip proposal for ICANN77, was Monday, 24 April.
Please find the CROP guidelines here: https://community.icann.org/x/F4A-DQ. The traveler has to be located in the same region as the event.
Thanks!
Kind Regards,
Andrea

Hello Andrea. Quick question regarding CROP. We have not received any applications for CROP from the NA region. May we extend this to other regions, or use the funds for another EC member to attend, of course adhering to the limitations?
Thanks
Ken
