Dear EC,

I was aiming to schedule a EC call, considering its been a while since we
had one but, at the same time, I found it important to share the following
updates with you.

*1. NCUC Policy Writing Skills Capacity Building Program *
According to the ABR approved last year, we still had one last call from
this program to host. Therefore, after discussing with Maryam options of
dates we decided to schedule the call on June 17th, at 1600 UTC. Please
make sure to attend as this is an important and successful program that has
indeed contributed to our members participation in PDPs. The next step
about this ABR will be to have our ICANN Learn course finalized - on this
specific point I will check back with staff how is the development of the
course going.

*2. Strategic Outreach Plan for CROP FY20*
NCUC has to present an Outreach plan to use our CROP slots for FY20, this
is a document we have collectively developed before and have to have signed
by 17th of June. I was chatting with Maryam and, in order to avoid the
allocation of crop resources such as the ones we had this year, we thought
it would be good if we could schedule calls with each regional VP, the
respective EC and myself. In that sense we could (a) strengthen the EC reps
relationship with the regional VPs and (b) collectively identify events and
opportunities in the region to keep an eye on. Maryam has proposed the
following CROP timeline, that I would like to share with you:
- 20 – 31 May: Proposed period for discussion between regional VP/team with
relevant community groups (i.e. RALOs and CROP-eligible GNSO constituency
groups) on creating a Draft Strategic Outreach Plan for FY20
- 27 May – 10 June: Proposed dates for draft and submission of FY20 Draft
Strategic Outreach Plan for VP concurrence
- 17 June 2019: Proposed deadline for VP sign-off

I know it is a rather short timeline for us to hold conversations with the
VPs and also develop a plan, but the document itself is not that
complicated. So, I would ask you to inform me and Maryam about your
availability to join a call with your respective regional VP so Maryam can
try to schedule them. If we dont manage to jump on a call, my suggestion is
for us to set threads with each of them. So please get back to me about the
proposed calls/conversations. In the meantime, if you already have any
mapping of possible events and discussions NCUC members should be joining,
please report them back to me.

*3. Elections *
As you all may know, NCSG elections are underway. We are now under the
nomination
period that will run until Thursday 6 June 2019. I am bringing this back as
a reminder to any of you who wishes to run again for any of the open
positions but has not been nominated until now. The open positions are the
following:

- NCSG Chair, currently Stephanie Perrin, eligible for re-election;
- 2-year Council seat, currently Tatiana Tropina, eligible for one more
term;

*4. NCUC Representatives at the Policy Committee*
We had an open call for two NCUC representatives at the Policy Comittee but
the only volunteer was Farell. Therefore, I am reaching out to you once
again in order to know what should we do ? Should we reach out to members
we think would be interested, extend the call ? I would really appreciate
some input on this.

I guess that is all for now. Please write back to me on these subjects at
your earliest convenience!

Best,
--
