Dear Farzi,

As you know the NCUC has covered my hotel expenses twice, in order for me
to attend the International Working Group on data protection in
telecommunications and Media (IWGDPT, otherwise known as the Berlin Group.
For the Washington DC meeting this past April, EPIC (an NCUC member)
covered my flight and accommodation.  Attached are relevant bits from the
minutes of the last meeting.  The next meeting is to be hosted by the
Commission Nationale d'informatique et libertes (la CNIL) in Paris on
November 25-26.  I need to go to get the opinion that I am writing for the
working group approved and released prior to the GDPR becomine effective.
This is important, to back up our work on the RDS.  I would share this
document (that I am committed to circulating end of September, so that
there can be no further delays in its approval) but unfortunately I am
bound by a confidentiality agreement.  Trust me, it is going to be good.

Could you please cover, either through a CROPP application or through NCUC
funding, my expenses to go to this meeting?  Current airfare estimate is
$778 C for lowest economy, surface transport would be roughly $100 C,
parking for three nights $68.  Hotel has not been announced yet, they
always book something reasonable, but the small three star I used to stay
at all the time is about $200 C.  Grand total would be around $1500C not
counting per diems.
