Subject: [Ext] SOI: Mentee slot on the Onboarding Program

    Dear recipient,

I kindly request to be considered for the mentee slot on the Onboarding
    Program.

A summary of your background and areas of experience:

I hold a Master's degree from Helsinki University and Aalto University
School of Business, where I studied computer science, mathematics,
networking and English. I have worked as a programmer, sysadmin,
university lecturer and I have modest interest in security.

I am a member of Electronic Frontier Foundation and Free Software
Foundation Europe; I am consistent in taking digital rights and privacy
seriously. I am also member of Chaos Computer Club Amsterdam and
    Amsterdam hackerspace TechInc.

I am also interested in Human Rights Projects supported by New York
Human Rights Foundation, and I have volunteered my skills there.

    > Your areas of interest in policy development of ICANN

I am relatively new, and often I find I need a lot of guidance
navigating ICANN. I aim to compensate for that with reading well written
documentation, such as UASG reports, following remote sessions (I have
done it for over six months now).

All three policy kinds within the ICANN ecosystem cited by NCUC
onboarding program are of interest to me, and I believe I have capacity
to understand most subjects with enough background reading.

That said, some topics go well over my head.

    > Your work-to-date in policy development at ICANN, including what
    > Working Groups you are have joined (as a member or observer) and what
    > comments you have written (in whole or participated in).

At-Large Technology task force (TTF), GNSO-RDS-PDP-WG (member, but
not very active, participating in calls) and Cross Community Committee
on Accessibility, focusing on First Nations involvement. Recent addition
to Universal Acceptance Steering Group. Contributing to First Comment
    Drafters group in NCUC.

I am attaching my Fellowship Report from ICANN60 specifying my
engagement with different working groups in more detail.
