Hi all
Observer here, I have to say fellowship is a program not an entity. To make
it an entity was the wrong approach. Fellows need to work within the
community, not to create a community of their own. Being in leadership
position does not prove success. Working meaningfully in PDPs getting
involved with drafting comments and understanding DNS issues and trying to
solve them at ICANN shows success in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I was
a fellow and have nothing against the program, but there are concerns with
some of its aspects which the insider fellows don't see but the broader
community certainly does. For example sometimes fellows who are ncuc
members get funded to attend while they have not done much at ncuc or are
not required to do so.The program has become bigger than it was 4 years ago
so there has to be some changes. It is a program to help this community
not to create a community of its own. But I understand if you don't want
to say anything about it, note that the travel questionnaire scope is
pretty wide and answers can touch upon programs that involve traveling.
