[NCUC-EC] NCUC Brochure Chinese Version Completed

Forgive me, below you would read paragraphs of Chinese, amongst which I am communicating in Chinese (for convenience)with Jia He, along with my fellow colleagues of Chinese community, on some corrections about the finalized Chinese version of NCUC Brochure that has been sent to NCUC-Discuss list in Friday.
I know you do not recognize Chinese, but never mind. We will make sure a final, final version. Then I will announce again and upload  it onto the NCUC offical website. )

      你好。已看到你在周五下班之时发在NCUC邮件列表中的【NCUC宣传手册】中文翻译终稿。谢谢及时完成校译工作，至此兑现了我们对NCUC主席William Drake及执行委员会(Executive Committee)的承诺。
      仔细研读各位老师的修正之后，感受到字斟句酌，翻译精细、地道，学习到很多，受益颇丰，在此特别感谢刘越、郭丰、张建川老师的贡献，望各位老师继续给予指正和指导。
      上周二在CONAC国际部几位同事的帮助下，完成了【NCUC宣传手册】翻译及校对（水平确有不到之处，请各位老师继续多多指导），并交接给NCUC主席，与此同时，在得到贺佳的初步回复后，一直在默认等待贺佳的最终回复意见。
      可能由于未主动、及时与贺佳沟通，看到之时翻译终稿已由贺佳发在NCUC邮件列表中。
      但在此对文档中的两处修正商榷如下，请贺佳及各位老师指导：
     1、文档第二页，关于NCUC的介绍--我们做什么中，其中一个条目的英语原文为“Elect representatives to the GNSO Council, which coordinates the policy development process for gTLDs”，我的翻译为“在NCUC中选举负责制定通用顶级域政策的GNSO委员会代表”，邮件列表中终稿版的翻译为“选举负责协调通用顶级域政策制定工作的GNSO委员会”，此处个人认为原有翻译确有相当不到之处，但终稿版"修正"后与原文意义有原则上的差别。     正如诸位老师在校译过程中对NCUC可能已有一定了解，NCUC是在ICANN有实质投票权的组织，此谓之“选区”组织。NCUC每年在内部选举出部分代表，进入GNSO委员会，如NCUC在2014年的选举中，选出了Avri Doria，Edward Morris, Stephanie Perrin, David Cake, Marilia Maciel五名代表作为NCUC在GNSO委员会的代表，即成为GNSO委员会委员。
     按照终稿版翻译，NCUC“选举负责协调通用顶级域政策制定工作的GNSO委员会”，此翻译与原文意思原则上相去甚远，按照此翻译，即换言之，NCUC选举整个“GNSO委员会”，但根据GNSO委员会选举程序（详见：http://gnso.icann.org/en/about/gnso-council.htm），GNSO委员会的23名委员由CPH和NCPH各利益主体组织和选区组织按GNSO委员会选举程序规定的固定名额选出，因此NCUC不能“选举负责协调通用顶级域政策制定工作的GNSO委员会”，即换言之，NCUC不能选举整个“GNSO委员会”，为避免歧义，建议改为“在NCUC中选派代表进入到负责协调通用顶级域政策制定的GNSO委员会”，或按此意义，如各位老师有更佳改进之处，请指正！
    2、文档第一页，中间一栏--来吧，加入NCUC！，原文末尾处为“Dr. William J. Drake, University of Zurich and Chair of the NCUC”。在邮件列表中下载终稿版翻译后发现，不知是格式排版显示问题或是其他问题，未再显示“University of Zurich and Chair of the NCUC ”的翻译”苏黎世大学，NCUC主席“，稍后我将排好版，让”苏黎世大学，NCUC主席“显示出来。
   以上商榷之处请各位老师指正！
   对于其他修正之处，全部接受！
   如各位老师无其他意见，将在NCUC列表中再正式宣布一次。
   在此，也特别感谢CONAC国际部我的同事翟文、张安冬，感谢我的领导刘丽梅主任对此项工作的支持和指导，正是由于有她们的帮助，才得以完成【NCUC宣传手册】中文翻译，为各位老师校译提供了一定框架和思路，加之贺佳及各位专家的老师的字斟句酌校译，使得【NCUC宣传手册】更加完美地道，为各位的辛勤付出表示真诚感谢！
   特别是，从贺佳加入NCUC后的积极和热情参与上，学到很多，希望今后在NCUC中文翻译及本地化工作方面，更加密切协作。
  同时，作为NCUC执行委员会亚太区代表，也想借此机会，借助各位老师在中国社群的人脉，正式邀请对NCUC感兴趣的人士加入NCUC，在NCUC中发出中国社群的声音。

Hi Stefania，Yeah, of course we would not be so rushed as to upload a version not finalized to the website.
I just did not imagine Jia's team would need this remaining week to check the version.
Ok, then when Jia had a response, we will then announce.

It is very exciting to see the brochure in Chinese.

I would suggest you wait for the finalized, consolidated version to be uploaded to the website before announcing it on the discuss list. The announcement can then be matched by a document that people can immediately download and share :-)

Thanks again for your work, and for acting so quickly!

I am sure this will really consolidate our presence and membership amongst potential Chinese civil society.

Great. I will check it words by words for the first round, then I will invite the members from existing Chinese Advisory Group for ICANN to check it for the second round. We will make sure all the words and sentences used in our Brochure are
 correct. "New Checked Version" will be updated in the end of this week.

Last Monday, I committed to finish translation of NCUC Brochure in one week.

Here it is to keep you guys posted.

After collaborative proofreading by CONAC's translation team,
the Chinese version is completed. 

Plesase see the attached.

I know many of you are not familiar with Chinese, so let's hear if there is any improvement from Jia he.

It is expected that later today we shall annouce it in the public list.

Back to my hometown and just returning from looking after my family for a week,  I am ok and keep watching our discussions.

@Stefania, Yes, I have been keeping this thread in my mind and expect to do it with you and @Bill.
This is an excellent idea, which could make NCUC more localized in China.

I feel it is very good to start from the NCUC Brochure. When in Washington, Kathy told me I could circulate the brochure in China in order to let more people know NCUC, however, it is English version. Thanks for your idea, now I
 will start translating it into Chinese.

@Bill, thanks very much for delivering me the latest version.

Basically, I may need one week to finish the job and then I could let my Chinese people to help improve and make it better.

If all that is done, I will upload the Chinese Version in the EC List.

After the Brochure translation, I would also do other materials tranlation, let us move on step by step.

Hope we could publish and circulate a Chinese version Brochure along with other versions during the ICANN 53 Buenos Aires Meeting three month later. Very excited about that.
