Ayden - you're wrong on your transparency complaints. The entire
conversation took place on the EC list, and is open for review. There are *no
communications* that are not documented there.

As to the question of consultation... I think there's room for reasonable
disagreement as to when and how often we should be polling the members. I
think Farzi raised an interesting point earlier, insofar as this is
something that only the leadership go to, so they're probably better placed
to make the decision about its utility than the members. Obviously the EC
want to act in a way that's consistent with the wishes of the membership -
but I don't think it's part of our procedures to go back to the members
every time a decision needs to be made. That's not how a representative
democracy works.
