Dear All:
In follow-up from yesterday's GNSO Council meeting, NCSG is able to
nominate both a primary and secondary candidate to serve on the ICANN
Accountability and Transparency Review Team 2. NCSG' primary
endorsement should be *guaranteed* a seat on the ATRT2 team, while
NCSG's secondary endorsement *may* be selected by the GNSO Council to
meet its geographic and gender diversity requirements.
Two NCSG members have requested NCSG endorsement for their candidacy
to participate on the ATRT2 team. NCSG's two candidates are Avri
Doria and Marie-Laure Lemineur, both of whom would serve NCSG/ICANN
well on the ATRT. One will be endorsed as primary and the other as
secondary participants on the ATRT. Their candidate statements are
below. NCSG-EC will make the final decision on its list, which is
cc'd here along with both NCSG candidates.
We have a tight deadline (less than 48-hrs) to make our selections
for primary/secondary endorsement, and I'd like to open this up to
the membership to ask questions of the candidates and also for the
NCSG members to state what the issues are that they would like for
NCSG's representatives to take back to ATRT.
Therefore now have a 24-hour period to ask the two NCSG candidates
questions and to provide them with initial feedback about desired
outcomes for the ATRT (using this list beginning now).
The ATRT process is extremely important for continuing to improve
ICANN's record on accountability and transparency issues, so I
encourage you all to take a look and provide some feedback to the
candidates at your earliest opportunity.
Thank you,
Robin
