I agree, Alain.  Especially with all of the heightened concern lately  
regarding ICANN's lax ethical standards for conflicts of interest, it  
is deeply troubling that the GNSO Council allowed this motion to go  
forward under these circumstances (and was led by staff to do it).    
I also agree that this matter should be referred to SCI and I expect  
the press will take a keen interest in ICANN's decision making  
process that again bypasses proper process to achieve a desired  
result for the benefit of a few, but powerful, interests.
