Hi,
That is exactly the point some of us are making.
Some disagree, e.g. Alan G. argued that a PDP could not complete in time and thus this group needed to soldier on and fulfill its charter. So there is a difference of opinion the issue of continuing.
But then again the issue is wider than the IFRC and IOT at this point. For example, one of the reasons put forward by the IFRC is that they do not want to waste the contributions they get for doing their charitable mission in the fight against mark transgressors - the URS and UDRP cost money they would prefer to spend otherwise. I am assuming a lot of charities could make a similar plea. So I think any solution by this group will be flawed for many reasons ranging from procedure to fairness.
In any case, it was pointed out that the g-council created the Discussion Team and thus the g-council was the only entity that could tell them to close up shop and put the energies (Staff as well as volunteer) into the issues report and then the PDP, assuming the PDP will be approved, which seems sort of inevitable to me.

I'd be surprised if the Chair doesn't raise the Board resolution or the recent GNSO motion that we proposed (and succeeded in getting through) - he has already forwarded them to the Drafting Team mailing list. I will ask the question if he does not.
