Hi all:
I think I exposed my personal view on the duties and ethics of the
elect ones in this election when I replied to question 2.
Nevertheless, here it goes again:
"Finally, and I would like to stress this, there is a wide variety of
interpretation of which are the rights and the values of the members
within the NCSG. We have seen this before in previous threads.
Whomever is elected should also pay close attention to the eminent
representative role he/she will take, i.e., the elected should be
comprehensive, inclusive and consensual about these values and rights."
As to be held accountable, I believe in transparent communication and
action accountability. Every representative has the obligation (moral,
ethical, pedagogical) to share with the NCSG the concerns and issues
at stake.
Furthermore I propose that in the event of a representative is to
loose the confidence of the community that elected him/her, it should
submit his/her position to a new cast of votes. This of course will
have to be regulated, and I'm sure that there are mechanisms similar
to this in many situations.
Warm regards,
Nuno Garcia
