Dear YJ:
Thanks to bring this issue to our constituency.
I think that inputs developed in this subject has to
be integral regardless latin or non-latin characters,
because anyway, the name of a country or the name of a
geographical area exists in latin and non-latin
characters.
Even, the name of a country that is not originally in
non-latin characters has already its translation in
the dictionaries of such non-latin character
languages.
I personally not agree with GAC intentions. This is
the same as if government have a law that prohibits to
use geographical names when they register a brand or
the name of a bussiness, neither I am agree that GAC
ask to ICANN to make this a policy when this is a
matter relative to local laws and/or WIPO.
However, what ICANN is to communicate to WIPO ICANN
opinion about any attempt of WIPO to develop a policy
as the GAC wishes.
Best Regards
Vany
