Dear colleagues,

Thank you for initiating this important conversation.

I believe this presents a valuable opportunity for NCUC Africa to do more
than provide event updates, and instead use the session as a space to
sharpen our regional priorities and strengthen coordination across the
community.

A useful approach may be to frame the webinar around the key implications
emerging from recent internet governance engagements: what these
developments mean for African non-commercial users, where there are
opportunities for stronger regional advocacy, and how we can position
ourselves more strategically in upcoming policy and governance processes.

In addition to updates, it may be worthwhile to include a forward-looking
discussion on actionable next steps for the region — particularly around
issues such as digital inclusion, rights-based internet governance,
meaningful participation in ICANN processes, and the visibility of African
perspectives in global policy conversations.

This could also serve as an opportunity to identify areas where NCUC Africa
can take a more coordinated leadership role, whether through thematic
working groups, community statements, or increased participation in
forthcoming engagements.

I would be glad to support the shaping of the agenda and help contribute to
ensuring the discussion is outcome-driven and strategically aligned with
our regional priorities.

Looking forward to collaborating with colleagues on this.

Kind regards

Thokozile Miya
