The session will explore the real-world implications of DNS abuse
mitigation for civil society and end users, with a particular focus on how
enforcement measures operate in practice and whether current approaches
adequately protect due process and human rights. The webinar aims to bridge
the gap between policy development and implementation while amplifying
perspectives from diverse regions.
We would especially value insights that could address:
(i) current actions and strategies undertaken by registrars in DNS abuse
mitigation;
(ii) where possible, the intersection between DNS abuse enforcement and
human rights, including due process, freedom of expression, and privacy; and
(iii) practical challenges registrars encounter when responding to
third-party requests related to DNS abuse.
The webinar will bring together speakers from the technical community,
civil society, and policy spaces and is open to participants from across
ICANN and the broader Internet governance ecosystem.
Please find attached the draft concept note, which outlines the objectives
and structure of the session in more detail.
Kind regards,
*Wisdom Donkor* (CASP+, CISM, CEH Certified)
