Thanks Milton. This is very helpful.
Perhaps we can arrange an EC chat to help us understand the finances.
Benjamin, what do you think?

We have approximately $80,000. It is dwindling over time (was about $88,000
4 years ago) because no one has raised new funds.

Thank you, Milton. These are all questions that the EC is examining.
We understand that the funds are available for this initiative should we
decide to proceed. As you point out, one important question concerns the
value of the website update and in that vein one missing aspect of our
discussion is the total NCUC budget envelope. As we are responsible for
making expenditure decisions, grateful if you can share with the EC the NCUC
financial details.
Thanks again.

We have that money, yes. The important questions are:
Is it worth it? What are you getting for that? is it an ongoing expenditure
or a one-off design? Are there good plans and commitments to maintain the
website?

Hello Prof.,
Thank you for your response. Here is Ken's question...
The summary is - do we have up to $3000 to spend on a website? More like
what is our limit to spend on a project like this?
Kind regards,
Benjamin

Hello Milton.
Happy new year. I hope you are doing well.
I have a question about NCUC finances, and I understand you are the person
to ask! (If not, please accept my apologies and perhaps let me know the
right person).
As you may know, the NCUC Executive Committee is considering a proposal for
the update/revamp of the group's website. As we think about how to proceed,
I would like to consider this activity within a wider context of funds
availability. In other words, does the NCUC have dedicated resources and, if
so, how much and what are the constraints? It occurs to me that we are
discussing approving or recommending an action with a $3,000 cost and yet I
know nothing about the financial resources that the group has to use at its
discretion. (I distinguish this from financial resources "available" to the
NCUC, since to me that means there are funds we can apply for from an
outside source, such as the budget requests from ICANN org that comes along
every now and then).
Can you help us to have a complete financial picture? It would help us in
the EC to make an informed decision about whether or not to proceed with an
expenditure on the web site or perhaps invest in other actions that would
have a higher priority and/or return.
Thank you and best regards.
Ken
