[NCUC-EC] Travel Support for ICANN61

Hi Ines,
I think it should be a transparent discussion, and I don't think that
your suggestion would have been unreasonable on its face - if my per
diem had been 600 USD. As it happens, it's less than half of that -
250 USD (300 USD - 50 USD in bank fees). Good luck getting 6 nights in
Puerto Rico for that - even 3 nights in that area of San Juan would be
pushing it.
But I have to ask - why are we talking about my per diem? This is not
the normal course of discussion when an EC member requests travel
support for a meeting he is heavily involved in. I don't recall this
ever coming up for previous requests - which are pro forma.
About a month ago, I sent a single email to Farzi, inquiring about my
per diem rates, as a possible way to cover my hotel - this is before I
looked into hotel costs, and before the silliness around ICANN travel
mistakenly telling me I'm covered for the entire time. For some
reason, that exchange spreads to you, and to whoever wrote that
ridiculous email to you postulating about some huge pile of cash that
I'm supposedly sitting on (Hi Ayden!). And now, suddenly, I'm also
sitting on this enormous per diem, and greedily demanding more money
from NCUC.
How about you ask me instead of trafficking in rumours?
Honestly - I've met so many good activists that used to participate in
NCUC and dropped away - and this is exactly why.
