Dear Renata,
*I kindly ask you to consider the following as my formal application for
attending ICANN63 in one of the EC slots available. My work plan consists
on planning and NCUC outreaches with the local community and also the joint
NCSG outreach with At-Large. The success joint outreach model with
At-Large, an event that I have not only assisted but represented NCUC in
the past 2 editions is a huge opportunity for showcasing our constituency
not only for ICANN Newcomers but also for the local community. On that
note as highlighted in previous emails, my suggestion would be to liaise
with EC-EU for identifying possible attendees throughout the academic
community from Barcelona, which is very representative. Also, given that
this upcoming meeting will also be held at an Spanish speaking country, I
plan to bring NCUC back to the ICANN information booth, on a session with
other latin leaders from across the ICANN community. With this inreach, we
can help foster not only participation hispanohablantes but the creation of
content in spanish, which communicates with the local community and the
majority of the Latin American IG community. I believe that such
conversation could be recorded or even part of a new edition of #ASKNCUC,
but this time in spanish. Apart from the Outreach/inreach suggestions, I
also plan to continue engaging with WT5 of the New gTLD subsequent
procedures past the WT initial report, which is expected to be issued in
September. Another groups that I have recently joined and plan to better
engage are the Auctions Proceeds WG and also the CCWP Human Rights, so
Barcelona will be a good opportunity for improving my involvement with both
parts. Last but not least, Barcelona will be the last meeting of this
leadership team and by the time the meeting comes we will have already
elected a new EC and Chair. So it is safe to say that, at the NCUC level
and with the vice-chair hat, I will most definitely make myself available
for whatever is needed in the transition between this and the next EC and
Chair. I hope this provides a good insight in my engagement plan for ICANN
63, and you can count with me in the preparation for the meeting, as well
as any agenda-setting and communication with members needed. Should you
need any other information regarding my plans, I am at your disposal. *
