[NCUC-EC] FW: INPUT REQUIRED: FY18 NCPH Intersessional

Hi

Ines, I did take into account the fact that our Chair is in the US and
the travel ban effects.

Of course it is essential and everybody wants that our Chair
participates onsite in the meetings.

I do understand, though, that our decisions are not only for the next
intersessional, or even next year.

Either we take a stand on visa and border friendly locations or we don't.

Same things goes for costs. My support is for responsibility on
expenditures for these meetings.

If I am supporting intersessional every year, I wish it to be done
responsibly so I can't support doing it in a country many people on
civil society can not get in. This is beyond a visa issue. And I
believe it's a temporary one, the travel ban can not continue forever.

As for Canada, for most LAC visa can take up to 1 month, requires
expensive travelling to the South most of the times.
Even though the denial rate is almost non-existent the costs make it
impractical.
