[NCUC-EC] Review NCUC Travel Support Applications

Dear All
Many apologies. I completely forgot that I had promised on Friday to respond. I know Bonface has been doing alot of outreach for ICANN, not necessarily for NCUC. Benjamin has been supported before but I did not see an indication of the outreach he has done so far, and instead there is a 'plan'. So my main support would go to Michael, then to Bonface if members agree that what he has been doing can be supported.

Rgds
Grace

Thanks Milton. Joao, Grace, let us know ASAP, we need to approve travel support. Getting visa is not easy.

Does everyone agree that we only support Michael for this round and tell the other applicants to become active and apply next time?

Hi,

I see a Michael as strong case because his involvement in workstream and clear interest on that (e.g. DIDP), also being the representative of an organisational member like Center for Law and Democracy which would make sense to engage more.

Hi Milton

We have to be quick on this because of visas etc. Who do you suggest we take on?

Best

I think we are spending money just for the sake of spending money.

$4000 is a limit, not a requirement. If we do not think we are getting something valuable from spending
it, then let’s not spend it.

I am not convinced that we need to support all three of these people

Agree, good suggestion.

They are requesting:

Benjamin - U$ 1500 - 34% of total

Bonface - U$ 1000 - 23% of total

Michael - U$ 1920 - 43% of total

Total is U$ 4420

I suggest to rate proportional of the U$ 420,00 as is:

Benjamin - U$ 1500 - 150 = U$ 1350

Bonface - U$ 1000 - 90 = U$ 910

Michael - U$ 1920 - 180 = U$ 1740

Total is U$ 4000

Hi everyone,

maybe as workable suggestion, we can review if we can provide partial funding to Michael, Benjamin and Bonface.
we can discuss how much we allocate.
