I agree with you Milton. This does not make sense at all to spend over a thousand USD for visa processing. I just can't understand the rationale.

Is this receipt for his travel to Abuja in connection with ICANN 55 or ICANN 56?

He was not authorized to incur these expenses for ICANN 56. We are reimbursing him for the expenses associated with his unsuccessful
 visa trip to Abuja for ICANN 55 only.

I note that he is asking for reimbursement of NGN 236,000, which is at current exchange rates US$ 1,186.
We had been told that his expenses were more like US$ 800.

Going forward, Sonigitu needs to understand that when we authorize $1,250 in travel support it is not sensible for him to have to spend
 ALL of it simply to get a visa, especially when the outcome of the visa process is uncertain.

It was a dark moment and sadden heart that I receive the decision of the EC over my travel support to ICANN 56

I have already commenced visa processing and I have visa interview with the Finnish embassy in Abuja on the 12 - 05 -2016.

I have waited for the bank to send receipt for insurance and they have not avail me yet, the insurance had costed me 18,000 Naira +
 218,000Naira (receipt attached) = NGN 236,000.

To be sincere am not happy about the EC decision, I shall try my best to attend ICANN 56.
