Subject: ICANN56- Travel Support Application

Dear Rafik and Maryam,

I’d like to apply to receive travel funding for the upcoming meeting in Helsinki.

This would be my third ICANN meeting and since the first, I have made efforts to be more and more involved with current NCUC and NCSG work. I am currently participating in the Next-Gen RDS PDP, while observing the RPM and GTLD subsequent procedures PDPs. I am considering moving to member status on the RPM PDP, if I feel I can make the time and develop the expertise to contribute productively. I have learned a lot since my first meeting in Dublin and have made substantial efforts to continue to be involved in representing the individual user’s interests relating to ICANN’s work and when it comes to internet policy in general. I funded my own travel to the last meeting and would be unable to do the same for the upcoming one in Helsinki. I would, however, very much like to attend and continue to contribute, if provided financial support.

I am currently based in Toronto, so expect to need approximately 900-1100 dollars for airfare, and the remaining of the $2000 maximal allotment for accommodation. It would be great to be considered.

Warm wishes,
Sana Ali
