Hi Rafik,Hi Teammates,
Great to have us gathering on the new EC. It is really my honor to work with you in the coming new year under the leadership of Rafik. Thanks to Rafik for making us start so quickly.
1. I would like to attend the NCPH meeting held on 4-5 Febrary, 2016.My question is whether the date is set or not. Is it possible for us to make it earlier?
2. For the Marrakech meeting, I also plan to attend. I am not sure whether I will obtain any funding from my employer, anyway I will try to secure some funding.
3. I agree very much with Rafik's idea of having a regular EC call each month, which would offer us the opportunity to discuss items of running the whole constituency. For the time of calls, I am available on Monday till Thursday between 12:00 UTC to 14: 00 UTC and on Friday after 14:00 UTC.
4. For NCUC appointments, I would like to refer you guys to the Documentation (though therea are some vacancies)that I finished couple of weeks ago, which would help NCUC members understand the diversity of representatives NCUC appoints to other groups and organizations within ICANN and help us EC members make decisions with the incumbents and members who are interested in the roles.
5. For the MAT that was previously led by Walid, there is clearly the NCUC Member Engagement Survey which has encompassed the problems members are confronted with. We have to dig into the survery and summarize those problems. There are points based on which we could start our work, for example, helping new members get involved as quickly as possible.
6. For the coming 2016, hope we could get those big items done. Propose we start from the NCUC bylaws rewriting. Hopfully, we can produce a draft proposal that includes the bullet points we want to change in order to be in line with the NCSG Charter.
Above is my rough response.Ready to cooperate with our Chair and Continent Representatives.
BestPeter

Hi RafikGreat that you have hit the ground running. That is the spirit. I also appreciate Bill's contribution and commitment to NCUC.
I am not planning to to go to Marrakech but interested in participating in the NCPH meeting.
In regards to NCUC call, Mondays or Fridays are okay for me.
With the appointments, I agree that we need to do them in particular ones that are urgent.
And finally yes, the review of the bylaws is one of the we should dispense with during this term.

Dear everyone,
first congratulation for being elected as NCUC EC member and thanks to the former EC members Bill and Stefania.
We have to start our work quickly and to make already some admin decisions within this week
1- Travel allocation
we got to decide about travel allocation for:
* 3 travel slots for ICANN marrakech meeting: from the current practice, one slot goes to NCUC chair and 2 slots are split by rotation to EC members. So we need to get confirmation who is planning to go to the next ICANN meeting, having or not self-funding etc to make decision.
* 6 travel slot for the Non-Contracted Party House intercessional meeting in LA (4-5 Feb 2016) : the NCPH meeting is a yearly-meeting where we get to discuss with our counterpart in GNSO, the CSG, in several topics of interest. the planning is underway and we need to get the names of those who will get the travel slots soon. we have decide who will go there.
I would like to get this done in the next 72 hours, ICANN staff has been waiting for a while to get the lists.
2- NCUC EC call
we should plan a NCUC EC call, hopefully, in december and make it a monthly regular call. one suggestion would to agree on regular day/time for such call, for example the the second or third friday of every month at 13:00UTC for 2 hours.
however, we will still have to discuss many topics by email too. an active participation is required
3- Planning for Marrakech
the planning for marrakech and schedule will start soon. I will send proposal for agenda and NCUC meetings there. There is a possibility to have a CS outreach event.
4- Appointements
we should start working to appoint and/or confirm representatives to different groups: NCUC representatives to NCSG EC, PC, GNSO SCI etc.
We should also rejuvenate/reactivate the teams we have within NCUC like membership team etc. Our role is to support those groups of volunteers and help them
5- Planning for 2016
I do think we got several areas to work on for next year such as NCUC incorporation, bylaws update, outreach effort ( planning on CROPP allocation), membership management, membership engagement, policy support etc. the list is definitely non exhaustive. it is a strategical planning exercise for us and it will give us some roadmap for 2016 and further.
I believe that we should also think on how to share the workload, roles to lead the different workstreams we would have and how to track progress (some project management flavor to be added).
looking for your feedback and inputs.
Best,
Rafik
