@Bill, I feel your frustrations but honestly, it never occurred to about the change due to summer time. I actually came on-line I guess an hour later and was wondering why I was the only one on-line. Apologies once again. I had good intentions.
I might also disappoint you again. I was not able to submit my visa for London 21 days ago as is the requirement. The Embassy here does not allow (like other embassies) for one to submit the application and then bring their passport back after some travel. I needed my passport and they told me to go submit and apply for a fast track which costs 200 GBP for visa to be processed in 5 working days. I will let you know of the status on Tuesday as it is a public holiday here on Monday and knowing that I will be needing my passport the following week.  I will give an update as soon as I have feedback.

Hello
I of course understand that life can intrude with family health issues and unanticipated travel and all the rest, and I hope everyone is doing fine.  At the same time, I must say it is sort of disappointing to do a Doodle poll, have everyone say they can make it, and then only half the EC turns up on the call.  It’s a bit unfair to those of us who were also traveling (Pranesh), ill (Stefi), or delaying a trip with spouse (me) in order to be able to make the agreed time, and frankly it was pretty embarrassing to have an ICANN staff member sitting there listening to the three of us lamenting our inability to decide on any of the pressing matters because we didn’t have quorum.   I hope we can do better next time.
Some of the topics we needed to discuss l guess can wait until London.  However others really must be decided immediately because other people are waiting on us.  I would therefore ask that people please respond in the next 24 hours if at all possible to the below so notifications can be sent etc.  I will be traveling and mostly offline in rural Suisse until Monday but will check in to see if consensus has been reached.

I propose that we approve the new members that have been vetted by our reps on the NCSG EC, and would ask Stefi to please add them to ncuc-discuss when green lighted (I’ll send you their addresses separately).

London travel support  http://lists.ncuc.org/pipermail/ncuc-ec/2014-May/001216.html & http://lists.ncuc.org/pipermail/ncuc-ec/2014-May/001215.html I propose that we notify Dee Dee Halleck and Anriette Esterhuysen that NCUC will reimburse the cost of their plane tickets to London up to $2,000 per.  By splitting the funding in this way we should be able to get two key members to the meeting to play important roles, and they hopefully will be able to cover their accommodation via other means.

I propose that an organizer fee of $5,000 be approved for services rendered in pulling together the Singapore NCUC policy conference.  As we discussed in Singapore, from beginning to end all the functions performed—fundraising, dealing with multiple staff, negotiating peoples’ travel arrangements, laying out the program, writing the texts, recruiting the cross-community speakers, assembling their details, listings the readings and on and on---easily amounted to more than a month of beyond-normal-responsibilites work, and this rate is well below that which NCUC paid 3 times previously for conference and workshop organizing.
Please let me know if the above proposals are acceptable to you.
