You know, I’m multitasking and not thinking clearly. As they say on Capitol Hill, I’d like to revise and extend my remarks.
I’d argue we don’t need to be conservative here with our finances, after all the EC only spent a couple thousand last year supporting meeting travel. Whether we spend 10 x $300 or 15 x or whatever is not a big difference, we need our people there, whether they're Councilors, appointed reps on NCSG EC and PC, or whatever. Let’s see who’d need help and make it happen.

But with respect to NCUC, I asked in the original proposal for one night support for EC and some other event team participants that have to be there to make the thing work. The numbers have gotten a bit mushy as budget's line items have been reworked and the hotel’s more expensive than expected, but the bottom line is that with Roy not coming and Carlos having support from CGI.br, there’s enough to cover Stefi, Pranesh, Grace and myself plus three others. But beyond this, unless the EC disagrees, I can’t see any reason why NCUC shouldn’t tap it’s $80,000 bank account to support those who do the work to pull this off, behind the scenes and/or speaking. This is after all our big event of the year. The hotel’s @ $300 a night, we ought to be able to cover ten or so. I don’t know if Milton would prefer to be wiring money in multiple directions or just handing people cash in exchange for invoices on site, he can say.
