[NCUC-DISCUSS] [2022-NomCom] NomCom Selection Announcement for ICANN Leadership Positions

Thanks Akinremi for your hard work.
I think NomCom unfortunately institutionally has been failing in its
mission and it gets worse every year.
The problem this year:
1. No female Board appointee. Also would like to know the rationale behind
appointing somebody with finance experience again while we do have board
members with business/finance experience already.
2. We see that former IPC members are again appointed to the GNSO council
by NomCom.This could potentially weaken us to influence the GNSO council as
they are now being overrepresented.
3. Rotating people in and out appointing them from one group to another
does not contribute to community vitality and bringing change to ICANN
4. NomCom needs to do more outreach or at least let us know so that we
encourage people to apply. Every year the argument is that they didn’t have
enough applicants.
