I have no plans to at this time, and it seems quite unlikely I’d be the best candidate to step forward at this point, but why would I absolutely rule it out given I have no idea if we even have other applicants? It’s a vital relationship for NCSG, not a prize to be doled out, and I hope it goes to a candidate with an appreciation of the history and importance of that relationship. I am focussed on other funding possibilities for NCSG at the current time, and considering my time commitments carefully, and I expect to be for the next year, but I find the idea of wanting to make decisions in advance based on personalities and outside of the actual context quite odd.
So, given you are already a councillor and an EPDP member, both of which have higher time commitments than an EC member, can I ask you if you are interested in serving in another leadership role, namely as our representative to the Public Interest Registry? Because it makes about as much sense to ask you as to ask me.
