Dear all

Incredibly NCUC proposal on a workshop on dot-amazon was approved for IGF Brazil
This proposal also counts w/ NCSG members

Unfortunately the other 2 proposals which just had members
participating and other organizations were not approved.
I have already booked an auditorium in the city for rejected. Details to follow.

Constant dripping wears away stone - A Brazilian proverb

Below the proposal and comments from evaluators and approval email

Thanks and congrats to all members who contributed

very good proposal, no problems

very good proposal, should be accepted under any conditions

Relevant and current topic, with clear and tangible results. Excellent
selection of debaters, observing gender equity. However, due to the
large number of speakers, it is unlikely that the debate will be
concluded in 90 minutes, as described. I suggest changing the format
or decreasing the number of speakers.

* Relevance - interesting to give visibility to the theme from the
emblematic case .amazon;

* Quality - proponents are aware of the theme and the issues at stake;

* Diversity - balanced table from the point of view of gender and with
people qualified for the theme in the different sectors;

* Format - The aquarium format is interesting, but must be
well-mediated to allow for a greater number of submissions.

good proposal but with a few problems

 good proposal, it should be accepted less excessive competition;

New gTLDs are still widely scattered to specialized forums and very
specific groups of individuals. While it is relevant to bring this
discussion into the national context, I do not believe that the
proposal specifically addresses this problem.
The discussion on the new first-level domain name "Amazon point",
although controversial, does not extrapolate specialized forums.

The proponents of the session could have used that moment to actually
engage the debate on relevant issues, beyond the "Whom it belongs to."
It failed to explain the relevance of the topic, from the point of
view of the domain name market and on the effects of the management of
this use of domain by a private entity vs governments of the Amazon
region. Although we have the presence of a governmental member with
vast knowledge in the area, what is the real impact of this discussion
on public Internet policies in Brazil or other countries in the Amazon
region? What is the interest of the business sector of this region in
.Amazon? What are the uses and bad uses? The controversy has not been
put in a way that engages people who do not know what ICANN does or
even what the GAC is - and these are the people to engage.
Finally, the methodology of fishbowl was not well explained,
especially the dynamics of operation and the final steps of this
discussion.

very good proposal, it should be accepted under any conditions
