Hello Arsene,

This is sad and i totally share your concern for privacy.

I strongly feel they can get this data from the Indian immigration service
since they do not need it for travel arrangement purposes.

Still they can give you a unique ID to match your immigration registration
when you enter the country.

Exposing certain biodata information exposes you further if there is a
breach of the system you submitted your passport to which is not an
authorized body to collect such information such as the nation's
immigration.

The question after you submit the data is... Who will you hold responsible
if the data controller  if there is a breach like the Equifax scenario?
If they can demonstrate a good practice at the moment, what is their data
retention policy after you leave the country and no longer need to use the
wifi anymore?

One world - one internet without restrictions or need for passport page is
better...
