I really like your definition, Farzaneh. Thank you for penning it.

Best, Ayden

Dear NCUC members,

ICANN is preparing a meeting scheduling manual. They want to know what is our group's definition/description of outreach. This is just a very informal solicitation with you. You can respond by Friday and then I send a description based on your comments.

Here is one description:
outreach is one of NCUC's core activities through which we provide information to noncommercial Internet users (our designated community) about the work of NCUC and its role in domain name policy making at ICANN. Outreach facilitates the entry of the designated community to policymaking processes at ICANN. Outreach brings the diversity of views of noncommercial users to NCUC and can prevent capture. Outreach raises awareness about the existence of NCUC and what we are working on at ICANN and how our designated community can get involved with our activities. It will bring more legitimacy to the process of policy development and make our participation more effective at ICANN.

Other ideas?

Best

Farzaneh
