[NCUC-DISCUSS] NomCom public meeting, Wednesday

Hi Bill,

Thanks alot for sending us this email. I have seen the NomCom report card
for January and have a question.

In NomCom, there was a Travel Logistics Sub-Committee . This logistic
committee was "in charge to suggest solutions to problems related Visa and
other issues." It had a chair and members.

The report says this Travel Sub-committee  is closed and states : Closed
with thanks from the Chair. *Visa issues are beyond our control*. Feedback
on travel reimbursement issues requested from members for a meeting with
the CFO.


Decisions on visas are ofcourse affected by many factors that can be
controlled by us and some stuff is not beyond our control. Providing enough
information for the participants, helping the less experienced participants
with their visa issues etc. We have received  good suggestions from some
people that had visa issues in our informal working party on visas.

Moreover, I would like to know how the sub-committee  functioned, did they
reach out to the broader community? Did they provide suggestions ? Did they
coordinate with ICANN staff and ask them about the problems? Is there any
material we can have access to?

I am not in Morrocco but was wondering if  it is ok to ask this tomorrow? I
could ask remotely or someone could volunteer to ask this .
