+1 to most of what Avri said. I think we should at least participate in the pilot see how it works and if we don't like it then we can leave after the pilot program.

Why not?

In the past I have been against this because i did not trust the ability of staff to behave themselves and do the work in a professional manner. 
Those days are gone.  These days staff has shown a remarkable ability to behave quite properly when helping groups do the group's work.

I think it is a pity that NCUC does not contribute statements that could be submitted and could get the endorsement of the NCSG.  If NCUC had a Policy Committee and had help it could contribute and help NCSG contribute to responding to more of the open calls, the ones NCUC might care about.

We also have a charter that has been out of date since the last decade. 
Maybe stuff help could help us find the energy to get a legitimate and approved charter in these days of accountability and transparency.

I think it might be useful to participate in the pilot program.
