[NCUC-DISCUSS] Visa for IGF Turkey

An e-visa is obviously the easiest but it’s not clear they’d be able to set up a fee waiver upon presentation of IGF confirmation via that route. So far they’ve said go to an embassy/mission, waiting to hear if they can make it work at the airport. Last time I went it cost me over $100, fees vary per country, so a courtesy is nice if you can get it.

At peak travel times there is often a considerable delay in getting a visa at both Ataturk and Sabiha airports. The cost is the same regardless of the method used.

While in my case there’s a Turkish consulate in Geneva, many other people won’t have this local option, and I assume it wouldn’t be possible to do with the online visa. But could it be logistically possible to allow collection of a courtesy visa upon arrival at the airport with the IGF registration letter?

Accordingly, the “IGF Registration Confirmation Letter” sent by IGF Secretariat via e-mail will be considered as valid proof for visa without fee in all Turkish Embassies/Consulates. So, you do not need to pay visa fee as IGF participants.
