NCUC election: nomination for Chair

I would like to second Mary's nomination of Bill.

As one of the newer members of the Constituency I've been spending a lot of
time observing and trying to figure out both how things do work and how
they should work at the NCUC. Bill Drake, more than anyone else, extended a
welcoming hand when I showed up in Prague to join the group . That's
important because the best way to address volunteer fatigue is having more
volunteers. Bill knows this.

He also knows ICANN. His writings are mandatory reading for anyone
attempting to understand the complexities of the ICANN process. This next
year is a crucial one for internet governance. Fadi Chehade is obviously
not a status quo type of executive. Dubai may, or may not, present
challenges to ICANN that are currently unanticipated. Bill's U.N. ties will
serve us well no matter what happens. There is no one better able to
marshall the NCUC through the changes that are forthcoming, and maintain
and promote the role of our Constituency in the IG ecosphere, than Bill
Drake.

I'd encourage all NCUC members, new and old, in joining me in supporting
Mary's nomination of Bill Drake for chair of the Constituency. He's the
right person at the right time and we're lucky to have him.
