Subject: Updated membership lists & the charter adoption ballot

Hi,

I have updated the membership list as of 28 July 2011. These people correspond to the names and addresses I submitted for the Charter Ballot to Glen de Saint Géry who is assisting is setting up the vote. The ballots will be sent out shortly.

Only those on the active list will receive Charter Ballots. I have tried to make sure I have caught all the replies I was sent. Including scouring my bounced mail list. This activity has, however, taught me how unqualified I am for clerical tasks, so I will not be surprised if I missed someone, and again will apologize. If you sent a check-in and are not on the Active list or do not receive a ballot, please get in touch. I will ask to have you added to the ballot, though I am not sure it will be possible to do so.

However, the list is still open for those not on the active list to checkin before the Council/NCSG Chair elections that are tentatively set to begin on 19 September 2011. The deadline for checking in for the elections will be 20 August 2011. I will update active/inactive lists after that date - as I am going on vacation later this week I will not be updating the active list before then.

Please: Send a message to avri at psg.com<http://psg.com> with the Subject: NCSG checkin (or click here)<mailto:avri at psg.com?subject=NCSG%20checkin> to confirm your email address if you are on the inactive members list and want to be on the active list.

People currently on the active list should be receiving a ballot that says the following:

---

On 12 June 2010, the NCSG approved a charter that was developed in a bottom-up manner, by a 70% majority. This charter was forwarded to the ICANN Board for endorsement. After extensive discussions the ICANN Board approved an amended version of the NCSG charter on 24 June 2011. The NCSG approved charter states that any amendments by the ICANN Board must be adopted by 60% of the active membership of the NCSG.

This ballot requires that you vote either 'In Favor' or 'Against' the adoption of the ICANN Board Approved charter found at http://gnso.icann.org/improvements/ncsg-charter-05may11-en.pdf

For this ballot to pass, 60% of all active votes must be in favor of adopting the charter. At the time of this ballot, The NCSG has 155 votes recorded among active voters. 94 votes in favor will be required for the charter to be adopted.

This ballot will end on 26 August 2011 2359 UTC

----

I will send out a reminder to go look for the ballot once I am informed that they have been sent out.

a.
