Hi
As I mentioned the other day,
> BTW speaking of AoC review teams, once we get one more bit of info, I think later today, I'll be sending Council the proposed final process for the routine filling of RT slots, and we'll need SG feedback before voting on the motion 10 June. Bottom line, based on the experience with the first iteration, we're proposing radical simplification and depoliticization by basically eliminating the two competitive elected slots (except when needed to enhance diversity) and just giving each SG one slot to fill from the pool using whatever internal processes they have. We seem to be in a unique position in regard to the latter, less complicated; the contracted parties are currently saying they need like a month from the close of the call for applications to pick one representative from the relevant sub-set of the pool. Waiting to hear from the Selectors if that can work for them...
Any feedback most welcome. We'll vote on the motion 10 June.
Thanks,
Bill

> Please note the attached proposed GNSO endorsement process of nominees to AoC RTs. As you can see, it is a draft process at this time and a motion has been made on the GNSO Council list to approve it. That action is scheduled for the GNSO Council meeting on 10 June and I am unaware of any reasons why it would not be approved because all GNSO Stakeholder Groups were represented on the drafting team that developed the proposed process.
>
> I have asked Glen to post this draft process as soon as possible so that you may provide a link to it in the Call for Applicants for the next two RTs. I just request that it be identified as a draft until it has been approved by the GNSO Council.

> As mentioned on the last Council call, the drafting team has reached closure on a simplified, fairly apolitical proposed procedure for the routine handling of review team endorsements going forward. Hopefully this removes from the process any guesswork and undue stress. Please see the attached document and distribute it to your SGs for discussion and any feedback with an eye toward adoption on the next Council call. Re: the latter, I hereby make the following motion (thanks Margie for drafting); the mentioned link will be added later.
