Mawaki, I do not need any candidate -- NCUC does! There is no precluding
each post having more than one candidate. Olivier's message arrived with
your nomination of Mr Seck -- it is not up to the chair to just drop
nominations automatically. If you nominate a candidate, it is only fair
we check first if s/he has accepted it. The chair cannot disregard
nominations, cannot dismember the electoral ballot, cannot do several
things without the explicit consent of the constituency.
BTW, so far no nomination (self- or otherwise) has been seconded, with
the exception of Milton's, as far as I can recall. If we want to go by
the book, we need to get every nomination seconded. Just to make sure
this will not be a hurdle, I will automatically second every nomination
not yet seconded, since we have only one candidate per post.
I really do not want people to be under the impression that I am holding
up elections (for what purpose, for crying out loud?). The lack of
response of the NCUC community, BTW, is appaling -- less than 20% of the
members have participated in the nominations / electoral process
discussions (or any other discussion, BTW).
The good thing about your message is that I can start the process with
CGI.br immediately.
