[ncdnhc-discuss] Proposed Resolution

Kent, you're wrong on two counts.

1. We've paid dues for one year and are still current members
until March 2003.

2. I am talking about paying DNSO dues, not NCDNHC dues.
I will pay to remain a member of NCDNHC. I will not
contribute to DNSO.

Kent apparently does not grasp this
distinction. I suspect many others do not as well. It is
an important distinction. We can remain organized as
NCDNHC and pay dues to support our own functions,
as well as to distinguish between members and non-members.
But that does not mean that we need to pay DNSO or
ICANN anything.

In a message just today you acknowledged that your organization has
failed to pay its dues, and furthermore, has decided as a "value
proposition" that it is not going to pay dues because participation in
this constituency was a pointless exercise. This implies that you are

not a NCDNHC member, and hence your support is of no consequence.

Crocker, of course, is an unprincipled villain, and will continue in
his
obstructive ways. But, as a person of principle, I'm sure you will
now,
gracious as ever, withdraw from the list. :-)

As far as the "proposed resolution" -- let me suggest a friendly
rewording that I think will more clearly make the point:

Resolved: public advocacy groups have essentially taken over the
NCDNHC,
and, in order to complete that process, wish to now formally eject
schools, libraries, public charities, recreational clubs, and all
other non-commercial entities from the NCDNHC, notwithstanding the
fact that those groups were the primary motivation for the existence

of the NCDNHC in the first place, and notwithstanding the fact the
the public advocacy groups currently controlling the NCDNHC have
proven completely incapable of managing the constituency in a
  responsible fashion.

I think that more clearly captures the intent, don't you?

Kent
