Why would anyone want to have that valuable sense willingly undermined?

Most people here  have insisted on public (or at least 
stakeholder-)supervision in ICANN processes because of the *potential* for 
corruption that its decisionmaking structure allowed.

A COI situation is one of the few things a  powerless but public NCDNHC can 
address.
The arguments on all sides, shrill or otherwise, are noted.
