      Marc.  Ok.  You don't like the Lynn plan.  You want elections of half
the board members.  Sounds good.  What next?  The board eliminated the
elections.   Which leaves us exactly where?

     Asking the ICANN board to reverse itself on the elections is a good
idea.  I would not put all my eggs in that basket, however.  Maybe NTIA will
require the ICANN board to hold more elections.  Maybe they won't.  If not
NTIA, who?  If not at large elections, what?

     I personally don't mind brainstorming over what else might make sense.
Maybe the white paper will look better once people think of the
alternatives.  Maybe something else will work.  Maybe we are just wasting
our time, legitimizing a procedure that isn't going to listen or
fundamentally opposes the things we want.    I'm not smart enough to know
the precise way to respond, strategically.
