Yes, that is the "Distraction du Jour" to keep people busy while 15 people
are hand-selected behind the scenes to deliver the .ORG cash-cow to the
I* society.

People are also being distracted from discussing new TLDs. It should not
be surprising that the paid lobbyists from the various intellectual property
interests are devoting their time to this distraction. They have been doing
that for years behind the scenes and now claim to be working full-time to
help ICANN decide where to move the goal posts.

Note also, that people are being distracted from discussing the travesty
of the ICANN launch of new TLDs. People and companies are now being
invited to ICANN meetings to discuss topics unrelated to the DNS to
distract people from talking about why running illegal lotteries is not a very
wise thing to do, or why complex sunrise/sunset/goldmine/goldrush structures
are not needed in a truely competitive marketplace.

People are also being distracted from the other major TLD developments,
such as:
