[Ncuc-af] Summary of NCUC-Africa Skype Call

Dear Colleagues,
We had out first monthly call earlier today.
The following points were discussed


   1. The group discussed strategy to improve members participation on the
   main mailing list and calls for comments. *Resolution* - *More
   collaborations* and *send out a mail to solicit African members
   challenges.*
   2. Call for members to identify Internet Governance related and ICANN
   related activities around their region or countries. *Resolution* - *members
   to send in activities they have access to or are going to participate in;
   in-order  for NCUC to participate at the event through members
   representation or NCUC meetup*
   3. Lack of structure to our participation and Collaboration -
   *Resolution*: *Subsequent list generated from the list of challenges in
   item 1 will guide creating structure for our collaboration and engagement
   on the main mailing list.*
   4. Improve participation of French speaking members and women in NCUC
   Africa. *Resolution*:* Improve NCUC participation in Africa french IG
   events and announcing NCUC at such events, doing monthly Skype calls
   alternating the languages eg- January call was conducted in English,
   February call will conducted in French, while encouraging translations at
   every monthly meeting calls. Identify women in the community to help
   champion advocacy to women members on the list.*
   5. Members capacity building to enhance participation : *Resolution*:
   Call for experience members to simplify the policy statements while members
   are encouraged to read policy document more frequently. Periodically
   identify policy document to read and discuss in the group and mailing list.
   6. Regular webinar to boost participation - *Resolution*: *Africa EC
   will work with Thato to develop or schedule the next NCUC Africa webinar.*
   7. Inventory of calls for comments members are working on - *(i)Auction
   Proceeds - Thato, Africa Strategy 2020-2025 - Yazid, (please share ) *
