Amin, we are actually much more constrained than just using the regular regions.

It notes that the “relevant region for an eligible GNSO Constituency means that the trip must be allocated to a traveler residing in one of the countries within the GSE-designated region where the event/meeting in question is taking place.”

For ICANN81, Türkiye is in the “Middle East” GSE region according to the list. 

The way I read this is that the funded traveler MUST come from one of the 26 countries listed: 

Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iran, Islamic Republic of, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Tunisia, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates, Yemen.

I'm currently with Ken and I don't see any reason to wait until our meeting to send out the crop invitation. 

To prevent a situation similar to what happened with NPOC regarding the two crops, I suggest we open the invitation to all regions. Istanbul is located in the Middle East, spanning Asia, Africa, and Europe. This way, we can ensure that the best qualified can be selected.

IMO, we do not need to meet to determine how to send out a message inviting CROP applicants. We need to meet to review the applicants.

It’s not clear to me who is supposed to prepare the google form and send out the message, but I think that needs to be done asap, with a deadline of a day or two before we meet, say Friday, September 13th.

Dear All, 

Personally I do not have any problem with any date, however the challenge we have is....we have deliverables before September 20.

We are supposed to meet and decide about sending out an application form for CROP and submit candidates by 20th September.

The best thing to do is proceed with the scheduled date and team mates can listen to recordings and make their contribution as soon as possible.

Except if the CROP deadline is not 20th September we can move the date.
