[NCUC-EC] Fwd: Invoice for NCUC issue forum report

Mili
Sorry, but you have not supplied enough information. I need the full name of your bank and the address of the bank or the IFSC number for it. My bank does not know what "DBS" is, and there is no India-specific code to identify it. There are literally 200 Indian banks and about 50 start with "D".

I cannot overemphasize that with international wire transfers we must have EXACT information about EVERYTHING, including the full bank name the ADDRESS of the bank, the SWIFT and/or IFSC number, your home address, your exact name, your exact account number, the currency of the account, whether it is a personal or business account. If anything goes wrong, as we learned last time, the money not only doesn't go through, but we get charged penalty fees. We have already wasted $95 on this $300 transfer. ($45 wire transfer fee and $50 return fee)

NCUC needs to think carefully about these transaction costs before it contracts with people to pay them. Every such transaction requires about an hour of set up time, even assuming we have all the info we need, and the risks of something going wrong are high.

Hi Milton
Can you let me know if you have sent this payment to me already? I see all the ECs have approved it as per the thread below. Kindly let me know if you need any other information.

Dear Mili and all,
This should not be a problem since we approved the invoice initially.
The treasurer would just write a little note to justify the reason for the change from the initial plan.
I believe the payment can go ahead.

Kind regards,
Benjamin

Dear EC members

Brining up the NCUC report invoice matter. Since the transfer made to the writer failed to a banking glitch (Milton send the payment but the writers bank was unable to receive it and returned it to the the sender in this case the NCUC account managed by Milton).

As per the email conversations, Milton and I thought it would be quick and easy if I settled the writers invoice due to our regular channels (my bank allows a free transfer and in my past work we have paid the writer via thay directly). For quick reconciliation, I have made the payment to writer from my account and attached is the receipt for reimbursement.

As policy, we need the EC approval for Milton to reimburse the expense to. I would be grateful if you can provide it at the earliest.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best to get approval from NCUC EC first

Also, did the other person ever ask her bank what went wrong?

Ohkay.. maybe that’s easier. My account is in Singapore and I have received all ICANN and similar USD payments seamlessly. I won’t be physically attending the next meeting, so the above is the best bet.

And I have a free bank transfers to India as the same bank operates in India too. So that way there will be no additional costs.

If this is ohkay, I am happy to pay the writer today and then send you a fresh invoice with my bank details. Let me know if that works and what would you need from me in that case in additional to IBAN/Swift Code and account details.

Not a bad idea - but where is your bank? Or will you be in Puerto Rico and can accept a check drawn on a US bank?

Would it help if I make the payment and then just claim it as a reimbursement? To avoid this whole hassle and transfer costs all over again?
