Dear EC Members.

Thanks Pedro for the analysis.

I have reviewed the applications and I agree with the selection of Professor Adewale Adedokun for the ICANN80 CROP funding.

Hi all,

Another thing - just realized Gbereé is actually from an ISP. Even if this is not his only hat, he does not seem to have related any non-commercial activity in his application.

I think the choice for Adewale (sorry, I was calling him by his first name in my last email) would be even more clear considering this.

Just checked with Benjamin in private, and he also votes for Adewale. at Ken Herman <mailto:ken at kherman.com> and @Mili Semlani <mailto:milisemlani at gmail.com> , since we don't have your votes, if any of you disagree or notice a reason to discuss this further, please let us know.

I am unable to locate the Google doc. If someone can send it to me I can transfer the information. I can also forward the information to you directly, Mili. I would like to have a decision today so that the applicant has time to complete the trip proposal that is due by Friday.

Kind Regards,

Andrea

It would have been good to use the Google form for applicants as we have done so far for other CROP applications.

I am unable to view the applications here via these attachments… and we could easily avoid this by using the form already set up for this.

I am not sure why the usual process was not followed. In any case, I am not able to send my vote until I can view the applicant proposals clearly.

@ines @andrea can you’ll compile it in one Google doc for all of us to assess them ?

@amin thank you for your trust in our opinion, but personally, I would highly encourage you to cast your vote by going back to the applications. Thank you again

I am transferring my vote to Benjamin and Iness. Given their understanding of the African region, they will select the best participant to attend and he can show advance to the NCUC.

Hi Andrea and EC,

Gbééré or Emmanuel seems like the viable options since Muriel does not seem to qualify well for a CROP slot in a Policy Forum. Emmanuel's application looks more complete to me, and he does not have a long hiatus of no-participation in the ICANN community, which is a problem in Gbééré application (IMHO lack of guidance is not a satisfying explanation - he was a fellow, after all). I was also in Emmanuel's fellowship cohort and, although we did not speak with each other that much, he seemed serious and knowledgeable.
