as this was initially my suggestion, i agree with enthusiasm! :)
we need monika for the nextgen rds, and being on the EC will give her an extra reason to be involved

No objection from me. I do not know her but if both Rafik and Tapani recommend, then they know she is suitable.

Hi

I am now told that Rafik and Tapani have spoken with Monika Zalnieriute about temporarily filling in the empty slot as NCUC rep to the NCSG EC until the new NCUC EC has been seated early December and can make 2016 appointments, and that she has agreed. This is a great idea, and will ensure we are properly repped in any NCSG EG discussions before then.

Does the EC agree with this course of action? Please let us know.

Best

Bill

Whoops!

I am now told by Rafik that I've not been correctly informed and he didn't agree yet to this.

So let's hold off until this can be sorted out. People will talk here in Dublin and we'll come back to the list.

Hi

NCUC urgently need to appoint a new representative to the NCSG EC as Tapani will be Chair of NCSG, i.e. no longer one of NCUC's representatives on the EC. Normally we'd wait until the new NCUC EC is in place to do such appointments, but it's not an option since Tapani is NCSG chair from tomorrow and we must have a replacement in place. The incoming EC can appoint the other rep as soon as it's in office.

The simple and best solution is to appoint Rafik, who is actually running his last NCSG EC meeting as I write. Rafik has agreed to this. Continuity in representation is really needed here, as there's a lot of dense history and complexity to the inter-constituency dynamics and operations of the EC, plus Rafik has been dealing with the Board on these matters.

So I'm formally proposing the appointment of Rafik as one of our EC reps for 2016. Please let me know if you agree with this.

Thanks

Bill
