[NCUC-EC] new website

Thanks Bill for pointing out other TO DO items for the website. I am keeping a list, and will take care of this as soon as I can. Of course other volunteers are welcome :-) It is relaxing work after all.

I am thinking about a way to populate the website - while also making the work of many people more visible. How can we encourage ppl to write short blog posts on what's going on, for example, on the WWG on Whois and privacy? People who are active are also overly busy, but it would be good to make that work (and the NCUC as a whole) more accessible as well. (Not everyone has the time or the will to read all the mails and the discussion threads..). What would you suggest?

Hi Stefi

This is really excellent, thanks so much for contributing your time.

Dear EC-ers
I have spent a day (*) today playing around with the NCUC website - see the results.
The homepage message (pointing to the IGF workshops) will change as soon as the program for LA becomes available. Same goes for the section "upcoming meetings".

At some point we should get the London CD meeting material onto http://www.ncuc.org/events/icann-meetings/. The London outreach meeting advertised on the front page as upcoming should move there too http://www.ncuc.org/upcoming-workshop-civil-society-in-icann-and-internet-governance/. I will also dig up the Singapore EC meeting minutes for http://www.ncuc.org/governance/ec-meetings/ and pass those along when we post the Istanbul meeting.

Roy, the Digital Collection of docs probably needs a refresh too, more recent statements from NCSG don't seem to be there.

BTW I am talking with JJ about organizing a second (and hopefully better) one in LA, but there's some scheduling complexities that have to be worked out, will let you know.

In the next couple weeks I'll have to do the CD LA schedule, if anyone has suggestions I'm all ears. At this point, we have the NomCom coming in for a brief visit, and I'm thinking there should be a follow up discussion of the HR effort building on the COE paper, even though we're also trying to do a broader cross-community event on that.

Hope you like it. The minutes of the last EC meeting will soon be up too.

Please share the draft before posting.

BTW it seems our member numbers have been stuck at 357 for awhile, would be good to hear if the NCSG EC will be sending us more before LA.

Many thanks,

Bill
