I am happy to do some work on this.

I might also be interested in being considered for CROPP, but I am perfectly fine with more tech-minded people having it.

Ray Plazak told me in LA that he thinks we should CROPP funding for our members to attend the RIR meetings and participate in the policy discussions happening there.  Apparently there are about 11 of them a year in the different regions and our more "techy" minded members in those regions could participate there.  We should explore this possibility in the coming months.

Weird, you are subscribed and have written before.  Ask Maryam to check I guess.

I’m fine with you doing Rightscon, but are you saying you want to start the process already?  It’s a half year from now.  Can we deal after the LA meeting?  Send I guess a formal message saying this is what and why and after the EC says yes we will have to figure out how one applies.  I suspect Pranesh is not going to make good on this commitment either so it will fall to me to figure it out.

here the conference I was talking about and could be an opportunity to use CROPP program. ICANN staff Chris mondini was there in the last edition and ICANN was a topic in a session.
there is possibility to submit proposal for a session, I think Carlos and Pranesh have been involved in rightcons and can give advices. Also Anriette, Joana and other have participated there.
a session about civil society , ICANN and concerns there would make sense. talking about privacy risks with whois there would find its audience.
