I have been trying for some time now to get clarity from GNSO people on their meeting schedule and on the availability of staff for briefings; think this has finally been sorted.  Any suggestions welcome of course, same with CD, etc.

Again, this will be a closed private meeting without communications technology, which I traded away in negotiations to get another travel slot funded.  So it will be a chance for the five of us (plus Roy via Adobe for however long he wants to be with us via Adobe from EST, 13 hours earlier) to get background knowledge, exchange views and brainstorm on an informal basis;  get briefing from key staff on the technicalities of GNSO & Council operations and current hot issues; and pop over to Council to listen in on a couple fairly accessible and interesting sessions, which should provide a good glide path inward.  Sunday we can go over for more, there’s a bunch of really interesting sessions then, including a bit on the strategy panels, a meeting with the board, and the NCSG Policy Committee meeting, where we’ll talk civil society perspectives and bargaining positions on current GNSO issues alongside colleagues from the NPOC.

Normally the formal EC meeting part really should be public, but we’re without tech and we don’t have a lot to do anyway in a decision making sense…just approve the budgetary outlays for hotels and travel for this meeting.  But we still need to have someone take brief minutes of the meeting that can be shared with members and kept for records, so yes I am still awaiting a volunteer.
