> Grace, I’m sorry to hear about your visa issue. We would of course very much like you to be with us in London. Do let us know as soon as you can. In the event it cannot work out, has Constituency Travel already bought a ticket for you? If so I don’t know how easy it would be to cancel that and get the slot reallocated to another member but we’d have to move on it very quickly if we were to try.

So Grace has canceled her attendance and her NCUC travel slot has been reallocated to Dee Dee Halleck. Amr Elsadr has canceled is attendance and his NCSG travel slot has been reallocated to Anriette Esterhuysen. NCUC therefore does not need to provide any travel support from its own account and our previous decisions on this are rescinded. Given that a range of personal circumstances are making prompt decision making difficult at this time and the meeting is in two weeks, I suggest we not embark on a last ditch effort to find a needy member who’s especially contributing to NCUC work or representation and wants to travel. Instead, let’s save NCUC’s money to offer above our average travel support to LA for the important Annual Meeting. We will by that point have only covered for the year one traveler to Singapore and a handful of extra hotels for Singapore and London, so we should be in a good position to help increase attendance.

Best
